In 1987 the Goethe Institute organized an exhibition called 'Art Kites'. They invited internationally famous artists to make a kite and it would then be flown at a later date in Japan. Some of the kites are so large they take an entire team just to get them in the air. The artists were helped by Japanese kite experts to make sure their creations would fly.

There are so many things in this world that are dying artforms. What happens when the last master kitemaker dies? I'd like to go around the world and learn all the dying knowledge, make schools for them, keep things going.
